Swift Pricing - Fair, transparent, and designed to grow with you
December 29, 2025
At Swift, we believe in transparent pricing that aligns our success with yours. We've designed our fee structure to be simple, predictable, and fair for both transport operators and passengers.
The fee structure
Swift operates on two straightforward fees:
Passenger booking fee: 5%
When a passenger books a ticket through Swift, they pay a 5% booking fee on top of your ticket price. This fee covers:
- Secure payment processing — We handle all payment complexities, from mobile money to card transactions
- Marketing and passenger acquisition — We actively promote routes to thousands of potential passengers
- Customer support — Our team handles passenger inquiries, cancellations, and refunds
- Platform maintenance — Keeping the booking system running smoothly 24/7
This fee is paid additionally by the passenger, not deducted from your earnings. Your ticket price remains exactly what you set.
As a passenger, this 5% booking fee is the only fee you ever encounter.
Operator commission: 7%
When we batch your daily earnings and send them to your bank, we deduct a 7% commission. This covers:
- Payout scheduling and management — Managing daily settlement flows, banking and transfer costs
- Risk management — Fraud prevention and passenger chargeback handling
- Platform development — Building new features and improving existing tools for merchants
So if you earn GHS 1,000 in ticket sales on a given day, you'll receive GHS 930 in your bank account the next business day (T+1). As a merchant, this 7% payout fee is the only fee you directly encounter.
Early stage flexibility
Swift is still in its early stages. We're learning alongside you, and our pricing reflects that. As we grow and understand the true cost of operations better, our fee structure may evolve. Any changes will be:
- Communicated clearly and early — No surprises or sudden changes
- Discussed with our operator partners — Your input matters
- Implemented gradually — You'll have time to adjust
- Based on mutual benefit — Changes should help both you and us
Our value add to you as a merchant
Pricing isn't just about percentages; it's about value exchange. Here's some of the many ways we add value to your operations:
- Time spent managing bookings by WhatsApp, phone or in person
- Mistakes from manual ticketing and accounting
- Cost of maintaining your own website and payment system
- Lost revenue from seats that could have been filled through using an additional platform like Swift
- Staff hours dealing with passenger inquiries
- A professional online presence
- Access to a growing passenger base
- Reduced payment collection risk
- Real-time business insights
- Automated workflows that save hours daily
We've proved this concept works and our early collaborators tell us they're making more money with Swift, simply because they're filling more seats and being more efficient.
Comparing the alternatives
It's worth considering what it would cost to build this yourself:
- Website development: GHS 20,000 - 50,000 initial build
- Payment integration: GHS 10,000 - 30,000 setup
- Hosting: GHS 500 - 2,000/month
- Maintenance: GHS 3,000 - 10,000/month
- Marketing: Highly variable, but significant
- Support staff: Multiple salaries
Even a modest operation could easily spend GHS 100,000+ annually on infrastructure alone. Swift's fees, by comparison, scale with your revenue. When you're starting out and doing GHS 10,000/month in bookings, you're paying ~GHS 700 in commissions. No upfront costs, no maintenance burden.
Questions about pricing?
We know pricing can be a sensitive topic, especially for businesses managing tight margins. If you have questions or concerns about our fee structure, we want to hear them.
Some common questions we get:
Can I pass the passenger booking fee to customers? The 5% booking fee is not paid by you, it is automatically added at checkout, so yes — it's passed to passengers by default. Your ticket prices remain exactly what you set.
Do I pay fees on cancelled bookings? No. If a passenger cancels and receives a refund, you don't pay commission on that amount. In the future, we will let merchants set individual cancellation policies. At the moment, all tickets are refundable until the time of the trip.
Are there any hidden fees? No. The 5% passenger fee and 7% merchant commission are the only fees. We don't charge setup costs, monthly subscriptions, or surprise processing fees.
What if my margins are too thin for 7% commission? We'd like to discuss this with you. In many cases, adjusting your pricing strategy or improving your load factor can make the math work better. Book a call with our team to explore options.
